(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – On Tuesday, al-Khalediya District Council announced, that the security forces are advancing from many directions in the military operation to liberate the city of Ramadi from ISIS militants, pointing out that there was heavy shelling on the militants’ sites.

The president of the council, Ali Dawood, stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The security forces advance in the military to liberate the city of Ramadi from several directions,” noting that, “The first axis is Albuaath area east of the city and another axis is Tash area south of the city, while the last axis is the Olympic Stadium in the area of Znkur towards Ramadi.”

Dawood added, “The security forces are also advancing from the areas of Madiq and Husaybah toward Ramadi, but slowly; because those forces are waiting for the progress of the rest of the forces so that there will be a balance in the military operation and then the entry of the city,” pointing out that, “There is a heavy shelling on the militants’ sites from various axes.”
