 Security forces advance towards Heet City and Kabisa in western Anbar

(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – A military source in the leadership of the army’s Sveenth Division said on Thursday, that the security forces as well as clan fighters advanced into Heet and Kabisa areas in western Anbar.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Today, scurity forces from the army’s Seventh Division and the Anti-Terrorism Directorate as well as the Federal Police and the Emergency Regiment, [backed by] clan fighters, advanced from Ainul Assad air base in the vicinity of al-Baghdadi towards the city of Heet and the vicinity of Kabisa to liberate them from ISIS,” noting that, “The zero hour to liberate the city and the vicinity has not started yet.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The security forces and clans advanced from two axes, one leads to Heet and the other leads to Kabisa,” pointing out to, “the existence of aerial cover by the international coalition and the Iraqi [army’s] aviation to support the security forces on the ground.”
