(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – An information share on Wednesday by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia it was announced that a large number of ISIS fighters were killed while nine others were arrested including foreigners, during violent clashes west of Ramadi.

Watheq al-Fartousi, a leader of al-hashed al-Sha’bi militia, said, “ISIS fighters carried out an offensive against the security forces and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi [militia] stationed in the area, 160 kilometers west of Ramadi,” adding, “Violent confrontations and clashes took place between the two sides.”

Fartousi added, “Our forces managed to destroy 30 vehicles and kill large numbers of the ISIS elements, apart from taking nine others as captives including five foreigners,” further adding, “The clashes are still going on.”
