Security forces kill 30 ISIS militants, free two villages in Balad

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that the security forces have liberated two villages in southern Tikrit after clashing with ISIS and killing 30 elements of the group.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told IraqiNews, “The security forces clashed with the ISIS group militants in Yathrib in the district of Balad, located 80 km south of Tikrit. The violent clashes resulted in killing 28 ISIS elements, including foreigners, and two senior leaders in the group, known as al-Hashmawy and Ahmed Yassin.”

“The government forces have gained control over two villages in the area of Yathrib,” the source added.
