 Security forces liberate areas south of Ramadi, says Anbar Council

(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – The Provincial Council of Anbar announced on Wednesday, that the Iraqi security forces have regained control over areas south of the city of Ramadi, while pointed out to the liberation of al-Naimiyah area south of Fallujah.

The deputy president of the council, Faleh al-Issawi, told IraqiNews.com, “The 16th division of the Rapid Intervention Forces carried out a tactical operation in al-Naimiyah south of Fallujah and managed to liberate it and arrive at a distance of 700 meters from Shuhada neighborhood south of Fallujah,” noting that, “The recent progress has tightened the siege on ISIS.”

He also stressed, “Ramadi and Fallujah will be liberated by the security forces, local police elements, anti-terrorism forces and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces from the residents of Anbar.”
