(IraqiNews.com) Karbala – Middle Euphrates Operations Command on Monday announced about foiling an attack launched by ISIS at Karbala desert and also informed about killing twelve (12) ISIS suicide bombers apart from detonating three (3) booby-trapped vehicles.

Middle Euphrates Operations Command, in a statement issued to the media, said, “Troops of Mid-Euphrates Operations Command were attacked at dawn today by twelve (12) ISIS fighters who were loaded with explosives. The attack took place near the under constructed berm in Karbala desert.”

Informing further the statement added, “The ISIS members were driving three booby-trapped vehicles and carrying light and medium weapons. The troops, backed by military reinforcements, managed to repulse the attack and gunned down the 12 fighters and destroyed the vehicles. No loss however was received by the security forces.”
