(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – A security source in Anbar province announced on Monday, that the commander of the Third Regiment of the Commandos Brigade in the First Rapid Intervention Division was killed along with two soldiers in an ISIS attack on a security headquarters east of Ramadi.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com: “elements belonging to ISIS attacked the headquarters of the Third Regiment of the Commandos Brigade in the First Rapid Intervention Division in al-Harariyat area in al-Karma district (53 km east of Ramadi), which led to clashes that resulted in the killing of the commander of the regiment and two soldiers, as well as wounding four other soldiers.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added: “International Coalition Aviation intervened and managed to kill 18 ISIS elements, in addition to destroying two vehicles,” noting that, “the remaining ISIS elements withdrew into al-Karma district.”
