Turkish warplanes shell border areas in Kurdistan Region

(IraqiNews.com) The Turkish warplanes shelled border villages in Kurdistan Region.

The Office of the Kurdistan Patriotic Union quoted an informed source as saying that ”The Turkish warplanes shelled the mountains Sikanaan, Kuna and Cotter in Balian area and some neighbor areas to the villages Aenzh, Yoga and Sarjaoa at the foot of Qandil mountain,” noting that “Another Turkish warplanes shelled areas within Sedkan district in addition to Almosh village and Bany mountain in Khuakork area.”

The source added “Eight Turkish warplanes participated in the bombing which lasted for an hour,” noting that “The human casualties and the material damages due to Turkish bombing are unidentified yet.”

The source confirmed that ”The bombing resulted to create state of fear and panic to the local citizens who are preparing to leave their houses and villages to secure areas.”

From time to time, the Turkish forces bomb the Kurdistan Region’s border villages under the pretext of chasing PKK elements on the border areas, which led to relocating the citizens of those areas from their homes, fearing of constant bombing. / End/
