(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The US Department of Defense “Pentagon” said on Friday, that Washington will hand over 2,000 AT-4 anti-tank rockets to Iraq next week, indicating  that these weapons will help Iraq to confront armored vehicles used by ISIS.

The spokesman for the US Department of Defense, Col. Steve Warren said in an interview quoted by the Associated Press agency and followed by IraqiNews.com, “The shipment of 2,000 of shoulder-fired AT-4 weapons should arrive in Iraq by next week,” explaining that “these weapons designed to penetrate armors; they are useful to destroy armored vehicles and bombs like those cars that had been used by ISIS in the city of Ramadi over the past week. ”

Warren added that, “the United States will step up another shipment of weapons and modern technological devices to Iraq to support its efforts to restore its territory from extremists.”

Noteworthy, a senior US State Department announced on Thursday (21 May 2015), that Washington plans to hand over thousand of anti-tank weapons to Iraq by next June.
