UK Home Office: Terror threat is greater than ever

(IraqiNews.com) On Monday, UK Home Secretary Theresa May stated that the threat of terror is greater than ever has been; “It’s becoming diverse and changing rapidly.”

The home secretary said in a speech in London: “We are engaged in a struggle that is fought on many fronts and in many forms. It is a struggle that will go on for many years. And the threat we face right now is perhaps greater than it ever has been—we must have the powers we need to defend ourselves.”

May said, “The terrorism threat within Britain was raised from “substantial” to “severe” in the summer, reflecting the rapid growth of the Islamic State (ISIS).” She stressed the need for new powers to face a threat that is becoming “more diverse and changing rapidly.” She also added, “The message to British nationals engaged in terrorism abroad is clear —you’ll only be allowed to come home on our terms.”
