Urgent – 14 gunmen killed in Salah il-Din

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A security force killed 14 gunmen and seized weapons cache in southern Samara of Salah il-Din province.

A security source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Friday “A security force within Samara Operations Command conducted a raid-search operation in al-Jazeera area of southern Samara, killing 14 gunmen where other two managed to escape,” noting that “One of the killed gunmen was among the escaped prisoners from Tasfirat prison of Tikrit city.”

“The force seized weapons cache comprising C-4 material and some books and CDs that instigate violence,” the source concluded.

It is worth mentioning that a group of gunmen controlled Tasfirat prison in September 2012 after detonating a car bomb and escaping the prisoners.
