Urgent – .IA senior officer killed in western Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A senior Iraqi Army officer was killed while he was in duty in western Baghdad on Monday.

A source from Baghdad Operations Command stated to IraqiNews.com “Colonel, Qais al-Shimmari, Commander of the 4th Regiment, Brigade 23rd of 17th Division was killed in Zaidan area due to a bomb explosion.”

“The IA forces conducted search operation in the areas close to the military base to capture the doers,” the source concluded.
