Urgent – ISF conducts 3rd phase of Tikrit liberation operation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Ministry of Defense confirmed completing the first and second phases of the security plan related to liberating Salah-il-Din province from the terrorists of the ISIL represented by liberating areas of Albu Eisa, Albu Riyash, Mubarak al-Farhan, Himreen district and Zarka bridge which links Duz, Tikrit, Alam and Dour cities.

Statement by the Ministry of Defense received by IraqiNews.com cited “The third phase of the operation started towards liberating Tal Kisaiba and Alam areas from different directions according to a well set plan for this purpose.”

“The Iraqi Air Force and supportive units participated heavily in destroying many car bombs and vehicles mounted with machi8ne guns that faced the ISF advancing towards their targets and killed many terrorists as well as destroying several factories for manufacturing bombs and car bombs,” the statement added.

“Military Engineering Units also participated in removing many bombs and explosives emplaced on the routs used by the ISF and volunteers who continue their marsh towards Salah-il-Din to liberate the whole province completely from the terrorists of the ISIL,” the statement concluded. /End/
