URGENT: ISIL seizes 3 oil fields northwest of Nineveh from fleeing Kurdish Peshmerga forces

lMosul (IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, North Oil Company source revealed that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant has taken control of 3 oil fields in the area of Zammar in Nineveh province, indicating that these fields produce 20,000 barrels per day while warning that the organization of ISIL will load the shipments of produced crude oil in these fields and sell them.

The source said, in an interview for IraqiNews.com, that “the organization ISIL took control, yesterday evening, of the fields of Ain Zala, Botma and the pumping station at the Iraqi-Turkish line after the withdrawal of Peshmerga security forces from the area of Zammar (80 km northwest of Nineveh) and the entry of militants of ISIL to it” noting that “these fields produce about 20 thousand barrels per day. They are one of the most important oil fields in the province of Nineveh; they provide additional rates to pump oil from the Kirkuk oilfields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. ”

The source warned that the organization of ISIL will load shipments from produced crude oil in these fields and sell them.”

A local official in Nineveh province also confirmed on Saturday (August 2, 2014), the control of the organization ISIL on the area of Zammar northwest of Mosul in full after battles with the Peshmerga forces, which withdrew from the area.
