URGENT: ISIS destroys tomb of Saddam Hussein’s father in Tikrit, Iraq

Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, a source in Salahuddin province claimed that the militants of the so-called Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) blew up the mosque and tomb of the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein’s father, Hussein Abid al-Majid with improvised explosive devices in the center of Tikrit.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “Elements of the organization ISIS blew up the mosque and the tomb of the president of former regime’s father, Hussein Abid al-Majid with a number of improvised explosive devices in Tikrit.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The bombing resulted in the complete destruction of the mosque and tomb.”
