US ambassador promised to pressure government into arming Anbar tribes, says Krhot

(IraqiNews.com) President of Anbar Provincial Council Sabah Krhot announced on that Saturday, that he met with the US ambassador in Baghdad, Stuart Jones, to discuss the security situation in the province, stressing that Jones promised to pressure the government into arming Anbar tribes that are fighting in the war against terrorism.
Krhot said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, that he presided over a delegation of Board of Anbar members and met today with the US ambassador in Baghdad, Stuart Jones, and discussed with him the security and humanitarian situation in Anbar.
Krhot added, “The US ambassador promised to pressure the central government to arm Anbar tribes that are fighting terrorism and provide them with weapons and ammunition, as well as intensifying of the international coalition aerial support and providing assistance to Anbar.”
