US envoy John Allen arrives in Baghdad to meet Iraqi officials

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday the United States envoy, retired Gen. John Allen arrived in Baghdad in his tour to the Middle East to help coordinate the efforts in support of the international coalition against ISIS.

Allen, alongside his deputy Brett McGurk, arrived in Iraq today to meet Iraqi officials, and discuss the ways of cooperation and support needed with Iraq in the fight against the ISIS group.

In this regard, US officials said, that Allen’s main mission in the region is to garner greater support for the US-led coalition, which has conducted air strikes against the militant groups in Iraq and Syria.
