(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The spokesperson of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia Ali al-Husseini announced on Tuesday, that the paramilitary al-Hashed al-Sha’bi force had foiled an attack by ISIS on the area of Tel Ahmed located in southern Kirkuk.

Husseini said in a brief statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces as well as al-Abbas Combat Regiment had managed to repel the attack on the area of Tel Ahmed in the vicinity of Bashir in Tuz Khurmatu (35 km south of Kirkuk),” explaining that, “The suicide bomber, who was riding a Hummer, has been killed in the vicinity of the village.”

Husseini added, “The artillery of al-Hashed [al-Sha’bi] forces at the defensive line flattened the [ISIS] positions by heavy artillery and helped repel the terrorist attack.”
