Coach Shakir withdraws from electoral race of Shurta FC

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The former coach of the Iraqi national football team, Hakim Shakir, confirmed his official withdrawal from the electoral race to win the post of the chief of the Administrative Board of Shurta FC to be held next Saturday.

Shakir stated to IraqiNews.com “Many members and fans of the Shurta FC urged me to nominate among others to be a member of the administrative board of Shurta FC in order to relief the problems facing the club.”

“I agreed to be among the candidates for this post Although it will make me lose my achievements on training level,” he added.

“But, eventually, I realized I am not ready to join such huge mission at this time, so I announce that I officially withdraw from the electoral race in Shurta FC,” coach Shakir said, stressing “I will remain the brother and supporter for the elected members of the new administration in Shurta FC in order to return the club to the right path.” /End/
