BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s football team topped its group A in the Asia games qualifying to the World Cup 2014 in Brazil after crushing Singapore 7/1 on the al-Arabi club pitch in Qatar on Wednesday.Striker Younis Mahmoud was a hat-trick hero as he scored in the 11th, 61st and 94th minutes of the match, Karar Jassem in the fourth minute, Hawar Mulla Mohamed from a penalty kick in the 22nd minute, Nash’at Akram from another penalty kick in the 35th minute and Mostafa Kareem in the 47th minute.Iraq, which had defeated Singapore 2/0 in an away game in Singapore, collected 15 points and scored 14 goals.
