Karbala FC suspends its activities due to attacking its coach

Karbala (IraqiNews.com) The Administrative Board of Karbala Sports Club announced suspending all sports activities to protest the attack that took place against the coach of its football team, Mohammed Abbas, yesterday after the end of the football match between Karbala FC and Air Force FC.

The President of the Club Mohamed Nasser al-Mousawi told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) that “All the members of the football team, members of the administration board and coach Mohammed Abbas’ family filed a complaint in the court of Karbala against the security elements who caused the clinical death of the coach.”

Nasser continued saying that “The club’s Administrative Board has decided to suspend all sports activities in the club in the various tournaments,” calling the Minister of Interior and Minister of Youth and Sports “to intervene personally and investigate this incident.”

The parliamentary Youth and Sports committee decided to start an investigation over the incident and assigning MP Mohammad Da’mi to supervise this investigation.
