Clashes break out between Syrian regime forces and IS in Dier Ezzor

Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Clashes broke out between the Syrian regime forces and the Islamic State militants, near Deir Ezzor Military Air Base, a source told Qasioun News.

The source said violent clashes broke out between the Syrian government forces and the Islamic State group, at noon today, on Deir Ezzor Military Air Base; meanwhile, warplanes carried out air strikes on the Islamic State headquarters in al-Kanamat neighborhood, but no casualties were reported.

Local sources also revealed that the Islamic State security forces arrested a number of civilians for smuggling families to the areas held by the Syrian Democratic Forces.

It is noteworthy that many towns and cities in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor are witnessing mass displacement due to the intense air strikes on the area.
