Gunmen kill 6 Lebanese soldiers near the Syrian border

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, a security source stated that six Lebanese soldiers have been killed in a militant attack near the Lebanese-Syrian border, adding that the Army lost contact with 7 other soldiers in the area.

Reuters report said, that at least six Lebanese soldiers were killed in a night attack by gunmen who crossed the Lebanese-Syrian border to Lebanon and attacked the soldiers within the Lebanese territory, adding that the Lebanese Army has lost contact with 7 other soldiers at the area.

An official source in Lebanon said, “It wasn’t clear who was behind the attack Tuesday night, which occurred in an area near Ras Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, but it was followed by fierce clashes between the Army and the gunmen.”
