(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that any Iranian military strike on the ISIS organization in Iraq will be “positive”, after the US Department of Defense had announced that Iran launched air strikes on the extremist group.

Kerry refused to confirm or deny the Iranian raids, saying, “I do not want to announce denial or confirmation. That it is up to them or to the Iraqis if it has happened,” pointing out, “We have indications that they did indeed fly air strikes with F-4 Phantoms in the past several days.”

The secretary stressed that the United States—which launched 1000 air strikes in Iraq and Syria since last August—does not coordinate any military action with Iran.

He added, “We are flying missions over Iraq. We coordinate with the Iraqi government as we conduct those. It’s up to the Iraqi government to deconflict that air space.”

On Tuesday, Pentagon announced that Iranian fighter jets launched strikes on the terrorists eastern Iraq in recent days.
