(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced on Friday, that the ISIS kidnapped dozens of Christians, including women and children, after the seizure of areas in the city of Homs.

The observatory said, “The fate of 230 citizens of the displaced people from the city of al-Karyatain; that they were abducted by ISIS elements, including dozens of followers of the Christian religion.”

ISIS added that “some of them have been arrested from the monastery of Mar Elian in al-Karyatain.”

ISIS controlled the city after heavy fighting with the Syrian army forces.

The city is located near the road linking the historical city of Palmyra and Kalamoon Mountains on the border with Lebanon.
