ISIS tries to control oil field in Libya

(IraqiNews.com) The Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (LROR) commander in al-Sadra confirmed Friday, the outbreak of violent clashes between the Oil Installations Guards and a force that is believed to belong to the ISIS group. He pointed out that the attack began at dawn on Friday when the ISIS elements tried to control al-Bahi oilfield (about 175 km southwest Morada) using mortar shells.

An Oil installations Guard officer said that the clashes continued in the vicinity of Bahi field night until the early morning hours.

He added that the subset oil reservoirs were burned as a result of incessant shelling.

The commander of Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room stressed that his troops are in need of support with arms and ammunition, adding that he expects another attack on al-Dahra oilfield east of Zala .
