Damascus (Syria News) Israeli warplanes carried out air strikes, on Monday, on the headquarters of the Syrian army, east of Damascus, sources told Qasioun News.

The sources informed that Israeli warplanes conducted air strikes, targeting anti-warplanes weapons and rockets launchers belonging to the Syrian army near Ramadan army’s headquarters, located 50 kilometers east of Damascus.

The air strikes destroyed the anti-warplanes weapons and rockets launchers completely, the sources added.

Spokesman for the Israeli Army, Avichay Adraee, said that air strikes were conducted, today, after the Syrian army launched SA-5 missiles and opened fire on Israeli jets, which were flying over Lebanon in an ordinary mission.

Furthermore, he revealed that Israel has no interest in escalating the situation; however, the army troops will be prepared for any hostile activity against it.

It is noteworthy that Russian warplanes carried out several air strikes on the Syrian army headquarters, located southeast and in central Syria.
