(IraqiNews.com) Sulaymaniyah – The PKK announced on Wednesday shooting down a Turkish spy plane near the Iraqi border, asserting that the plane was flying over skies that are under the control of the party.

The Spokesman of the armed wing of the PKK, Bakhtiar Dogan, said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The forces  of the PKK shot down a Turkish spy plane in Kafr area on the Turkish Iraqi border,” noting that “the plane was cruising the skies under the control of the PKK.”

Dogan said that “Turkey has stepped up air reconnaissance significantly in the areas with the presence of our troops,” pointing out that “we have shot down several Turkish spy planes over the past period.”
