(IraqiNews.com) The armed wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) announced on Saturday killing seven Turkish soldiers near the Iraqi border, while pointed out that five of the PKK militants were killed in clashes with the Turkish army.

The PKK said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Our forces launched an attack on an armored vehicle belonging to the Turkish army in the area of Qlaban on the Iraqi-Turkish border,” noting that, “The attack killed seven soldiers that were in the vehicle.”

The statement added, “Armed clashes broke out between the PKK fighters and the Turkish army in the region of Batman, resulting in the death of one Turkish soldier and five elements of the [PKK].”
