Police officer killed in suicide attack by a woman in Istanbul

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, a Turkish police officer was killed in a suicide attack carried out by a woman against the headquarters of the Turkish police in downtown Istanbul.

Turkish media reported that the police officer died of wounds suffered in a suicide attack on a police station in the historic district Sultan Ahmed in Istanbul.

It added that ambulances rushed to the scene in the old section of Istanbul’s historic area.

The governor of Istanbul said, “The suicide bomber entered the police station opposite to Hagia Sophia Museum and the Blue Mosque and blew herself up,” without talking about further details.
