Qatar summons its ambassador in Egypt after disagreements over air strikes in Libya

(IraqiNews.com) Qatar summoned its ambassador in Egypt for “consultation” after disagreements over the Egyptian air strikes in Libya, following statements by Egypt’s delegate to the Arab League.

Qatar news agency said late Wednesday, that Qatar has summoned its ambassador in Egypt for consultations following disagreements on the Egyptian air strikes against ISIS in Libya.

The agency added that the call came after remarks of Egypt’s delegate to the Arab League.

The Egyptian media circulated Ambassador Tariq Adel, Egypt’s permanent delegate to the Arab League’s criticism of Qatar for its reservation on the Egyptian air strikes in Libya and accused Doha of supporting terrorism.

The Middle East news agency quoted Adel as saying, “Qatar’s reservation on the Egyptian air strikes in Libya confirms once again its departure from the Arab consensus…It became clear that Qatar supports terrorism.”
