Deir Ezzor (Syria News) The Syrian Democratic Forces militia has carried out, on Saturday, an extensive offensive on the Islamic State group, in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor Province, Qasioun News reported.

The Syrian Democratic Forces managed to capture Namlya Village on the banks of the Khabour River, in northern Deir Ezzor, after clashes with the Islamic State militants resulting in the killing of 9 ISIS fighters.

Furthermore, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) besieged the Islamic State militans near Khabour River, in northern Deir Ezzor, one week ago, after crossing the river and seizing both al-Omar and al-Tanak Oil Fields, northeast of Deir Ezzor.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Democratic Forces militia was able to advance and recapture large areas of land, in northeastern Deir Ezzor, backed by the US-Led coalition warplanes, within an offensive, codenamed al-Jazeera Storm that was launched last September.
