Deir Ezzor (Syria News) Informed sources sharing the latest, ISIS news today, revealed that the Syrian Democratic Forces militia (SDF) carried out a military operation, on Monday, on the last stronghold of the Islamic State group, in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, Qasioun News reported.

The sources informed that the Syrian Democratic Forces militia has launched an offensive on the last stronghold of the Islamic State group, which is located near Khabour River in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

More than a dozen of the Islamic State fighters were killed, in addition to destroying a SUV vehicle belonging to the terrorist group, after clashes in the vicinity of Namlya Village, which was recaptured recently by the SDF militants.

The offensive took place after separate clashes around the village of Basira, in eastern Deir Ezzor, while SDF militia besieged the Islamic State fighters in 2 narrow areas, north and east of Deir Ezzor.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic State has recently lost large areas of land in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, and withdrew towards Albukamal City, on the Syrian–Iraqi borders, which is considered the last important stronghold of the Islamic State in Syria.
