Turkey detains 14 people seeking to join ISIS

(IraqiNews.com) Turkish armed forces have detained 14 people including foreigners and Turks seeking to cross the border into Syria to join the ISIS group militants, Army General Staff said on Wednesday.

According to the Daily Sabah newspaper, Army General Staff said that the Turkish Army detained 14 people, including foreigners and Turks, who were seeking to cross the Turkish-Syrian border in order to join the ISIS group militants.

Turkish Army General Staff also said that more than 13,000 fighters from more than 80 countries have already joined the ISIS group and other militant groups inside Iraq and Syria, according to the report by the Daily Sabah.

Noteworthy, Turkey joined other countries in the U.S.-led international coalition against the ISIS group in Iraq and Syria.
