(IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that about 10 Kurdish Peshmerga fighters from Iraq entered the city of Ain Arab (Kobanî) through the borders of Turkey.

The Syrian Observatory—which is based in Britain—said that the other Peshmerga fighters are scheduled to enter the city in a matter of hours.

This comes as President of Iraqi Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, said in a statement that his region is ready to send more troops to the city Kobanî if asked to do so.

Syrian Kurdish officials said that it is expected about 150 Kurdish Peshmerga fighters to help their comrades in Kobanî.
