 Washington halts airstrikes against ISIS after Turkish base closure

(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – An American official informed that Washington has suspended its air strikes against ISIS after due to the closure of Turkish airspace post the failed coup attempt that Turkey witnessed on Friday.

A US military source, revealing details about the decision, said, “The United States has suspended its air strikes against ISIS after Turkey closed its airspace,” adding, “The US military operations that are conducted from the Turkish Incirlik Air Base against ISIS in Iraq and Syria have been suspended after the Turkish army closed the airspace post the failed coup attempt.”

Adding further the source said, “The Turkish authorities informed the United states that it closed its airspace until ensuring allegiance to its Air Force.”
