US air drops Kurdish weapons to Kurdish fighters in Kobani

(IraqiNew.com) On Monday, US Central Command announced that the American warplanes dropped weapons and ammunition provided by the authorities of Iraqi Kurdistan for the Kurds who are fighting the militants of the so-called Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) in the city of Ain Arab, Kobanî in Syria, it also described the security situation in the city as “fragile still “.

The American leadership said in a statement reported by BBC and followed by IraqiNews.com: ” The cargo warplanes C-130 dropped several shipments of weapons and supplies provided by the authorities of the Kurdistan region in Iraq to the fighters of the Kurds who are fighting the militants of the organization ISIS  in the city of Ain Arab – Kobanî, Syria,” adding “the goal of this step is to enable Kurdish forces to continue resisting the organization ISIS which is seeking to fully control Kobanî.”
