Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Monday State of Law Coalition MP Kazem al-Sayadi pointed out that al-Abadi’s new government nominations included people who lack competence and integrity, noting that some of those people were accused of corruption and others have arrest warrants filed against them.

Al-Sayadi said in a press conference held at the parliament building today that “About 90% of the minister candidates lack experience, competence and integrity, pointing out that that recommendations from the Religious Authority to appoint officials on the basis of merit and to discourage corruption went unheeded and did not take them into account.”

Earlier in the same day, a number of political blocs in the Iraqi parliaments refused to ratify ministerial candidates who were involved in the killing of Iraqi citizens.

The President of the Parliament al-Jabouri, on Monday earlier, assured to the press that he received the government program from PM-designate al-Abadi, but did not yet receive the ministers’ profiles, noting the parliament will not be responsible for not ratifying the ministerial cabinet members in today’s session.
