Abadi meets Wasit Governor in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi prime Minister Haider al-Abadi decided on Wednesday to pay salaries for the last two months for the employees of Wasit Textile Company due to recent protests that erupted among these employees for not paying their salaries by the Ministry of Industries.

Reliable source reported to IraqiNews.com “PM Abadi received in his office on Wednesday evening Governor of Wasit Malik Khalaf with attendance of Transportation Minister Baqir Jabur al-Zubaidi,” noting that “The governor got approval of the PM Abadi to pay two month salaries for the employees of Wasit Textile Company.”

The source added “The decision also included obliging the ministries of defense, interior and health to deal with this company and use its products since the company adopts the self- finance principle.”

During the last few days, Wasit province witnessed protests for the employees of Wasit Textile Company who have not received their salaries for the last four months. /End/
