Al-Samarraie gives instructions to take actions against former premiers for being absent

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Iyad al-Samarraie, gave instructions to take actions against a number of parliamentarians who did not attend sessions during the first legislative term, including former prime ministers Ibrahim al-Jaafari and Iyad Allawi, according to a parliament’s statement. “Al-Jaafari and Allawi were absent for 25 sessions, while MP Jalam Jaafar Mohamad, who is wanted to the U.S. forces, was absent for 25 sessions also and Saleh al-Mutlaq (18 sessions),” said the statement received by Iraqi News. “The absent list includes two of Allawi’s Iraqi List members; Iyad Jamal al-Din (16 sessions) and Falah al-Naqieb (12 sessions),” it added.
