Awad: Minister of Electricity to be interrogated by parliament after Eid immediately

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Energy Committee, MP, Uday Awad, of Ahrar bloc confirmed that “The Minister of Electricity, Abdul Kareem Aftan, will be interrogated after Eid holiday immediately.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Aftan is involved in 27 constitutional violations and financial as well as administrative corruption files,” noting that “He faces charges of giving false information about the production of the Ministry for media.”

“The interrogation session was postponed by one of the members of the Parliament Chairmanship for partisan reasons,” he added.

“Postponing the session is a constitutional violation and the parliament Chairmanship does not have the right to delay the interrogation,” he concluded.

Earlier, MP, Suzan al-Saad, called the parliament to use its authorities by interrogating the officials responsible for file of the electricity power.
