Badr bloc MP calls to include vote on banning Paath Party proposal within next parliament session

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The parliamentary Badr bloc associated to the Iraqi National Alliance called to enact a law to ban the dissolved Baath Party from the agenda of the next parliament session.

MP Qasim al-Araji of the Badr bloc said “The Badr bloc calls the parliament’s chairmanship to include the proposal of banning the Baath within the agenda of the next parliament session for vote.”

The Council of Ministers has on June, 2012 to approved the proposal of banning the activities of the Baath Party and the extremist groups and submitted it for vote at the parliament. This law draft stipulates the imprisonment for ten years against whoever joins Baath after the ratification of this law or promote its notions in any way.
