Baghdad Mayorship calls stakeholders to cooperate over expected flood

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad Mayoship called the Ministry of Water Resources and Baghdad Operations Command to cooperate with the Mayorship’s teams to avert the risks that might occur following the raise of Tigris River’s level in Baghdad.

A statement by the Mayorship quoted the Acting Mayor, Abdul Hussein al-Murshidi as saying “Baghdad Mayorship calls on the Water Resources Ministry and the other concerned departments to coordinate with it to conduct the meticulous field inspection processes on the areas close to the Tigris River within Baghdad territories to prevent the damages that might happen due to the rise of Tigris level caused by the heavy rain that fell on Iraq’s northern provinces over the past days.”

“All the personnel of the Mayorship put on alert in anticipation of any emergency,” he added.
