Barzani meets clerics, scholars in Erbil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of the Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani, demands clerics not to exploit religion for political purposes and in the same time not to separate it from patriotism.The Presidency of Kurdistan Regional Government reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The President of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, hosted several clerics in Erbil on Wednesday and at the beginning of the meeting he praised the role of clerics and scholars in convincing young people to serve their country as part of their faith.”Barzani emphasized that ”Religion should not be separated from patriotism and he demanded clerics to encourage young people and raise them on rejecting sectarianism since it is far away of our Islamic religion rituals.”He confirmed ”The religion should never be used for political purposes, ” stressing that ”If all political blocs are adopting the same religion why they are always disputed, and people should expose these exploitative political blocs,” the statement added. \END\
