Bazoni expects amending JAC law soon

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The independent MP, Jawad al-Bazoni, expected amending the Justice and Accountability Commission law soon

He stated to IraqiNews.com “It is not possible to exclude a person who has no suitcase to be raised against him but because he was a prominent member of Baath Party,” noting that “We expect ending this law after a year or a year and a half.”

“This amendment will settle many problems and will enhance the political stability,” he added.

Over the delay in endorsing the law of criminalizing Baath Party, he said “There are disputes over this law because it will also involve the sectarian and racial movements in addition to Baath Party,” mentioning that “Some sides consider the radical Islamic movements as sectarian and that is why they are involved in this law.”

He expressed his wonder over “Not presenting this law in the parliament Chairmanship despite conducting its first reading inside the parliament.”
