Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq rules of existence of sectarianism in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, Sharif Shahin, ruled out the existence of the sectarianism in Iraq.

In a press conference, Shahin stated “The Iraqis appreciated the value of Egypt and its role where the Egyptians lived in Iraq as their twin country,” assuring that “The sectarianism is not existed in Iraq.”

“The Egyptian authorities is cooperating with the Iraqi Justice Ministry to release 33 Egyptian detainees in Iraq soon due to the visit of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Hisham Qindil, to Iraq,” he added, assuring that “The number of the Egyptian detainees in Iraq is 59 where their charges are different such as the illegal residency and terrorism charges.”

Regarding the Egyptian-Iraqi role in fighting terrorism, Shahin stated “The cooperation between the two sides include the security and intellectual sides where it reached an advanced level,” pointing out “The Iraqi are adhering to deal with al-Azhar and appreciate its role in the intellectual side.”

“Iraq is not longer a vacant space for the United States of America where the Americans have no role in Iraq after the US Troops’ withdrawal from Iraq,” he concluded.
