Fatlawi described calls for canceling death penalty as "Political, illogical"

Baghdad ( MP, Hanan al-Fatlawi, of the State of Law Coalition described “The calls for canceling the death penalty as political and illogical.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (, she assured that “There are political pressures that calls the government and the parliament for canceling the capital penalty in Iraq while Iraqis are killed and injured due to the terrorist attacks.”

“The death sentences are related to the situation of every country where some countries canceled the death penalty and replaced it with reforming procedures,” she added.

“I will be the first to call for canceling this penalty if the situation in Iraq gets stable,” she concluded.
