Governors of Middle, South of Iraq call Shihristani to visit their provinces

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Governors of the Middle and Southern Iraq called the head of the Ministerial Committee tasked to discuss the demonstrators’ demands, Hussein al-Shihristani to visit their provinces to be acquainted with their demands.

Baghdad Governor, Salah Abdul Razzaq, and some Governors of Southern Iraq held a press conference in Bag dad and called Shihristani to visit their provinces to be acquainted with their demands because they are more affected by the implementation of the constitution and the financial allocations.

Razzaq assured “We complain about the insufficient financial allocations and we have concerns over the effect of the political crisis on 2013 budget,” noting that “Many rights are neglecting due to delaying endorsing the budget where we need immediate decisions by the Council of Ministers.”

“We do not mind to settle the issues of the western provinces, but the government must take the demands of Baghdad province and the southern provinces into consideration,” he pointed out, assuring that “The law over criminalizing the Ba’ath Party is delayed in the parliament and we call to vote on it.”

Karbala Governor, Amal al-Din al-Hir called the parliament to “Adhere to its role in endorsing the law drafts and not to delay endorsing the 2013 budget and the Federal Court law draft.”

Regarding the demonstrations in Anbar province, al-Diwaniya Governor, Salih Hussein Alwan, stated “There are Ba’athist elements involved in the demonstrations where these demonstrations effected the decisions of the Iraqi government and their demands violated the constitution.”
