Hakim, Karbouli discuss political, security updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, met the head of al-Hal Movement, Jamal Karbouli, on Monday.

A statement by the SIIC received by Iraqi News cited “Hakim received Karbouli at his office in Baghdad where they discussed the latest political and security developments in the country, especially attacks conducted by the elements of what is called the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant.”

“Both sides’ views were identical over the necessity of unifying the stances regarding the challenges faced by Iraq,” the statement added.

“Karbouli handed over a letter for Hakim involves an initiative by the National Union Coalition to settle the security crisis,” the statement concluded.
