Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, mourned the death of the African leader ‘Nelson Mandela.

Via his Facebook page, he said “We share the grief and sorrow of the peoples of the world for the death of the African leader ‘Nelson Mandela’, who was one of the great world symbols in our modern era with his struggle against racism and discrimination and his call for equality and tolerance among humans.”

“We are certain that his voice against despotism and his love for peace will remain a flame lightening the path of defenders of peoples’ rights and fair causes,” he concluded.
